Demography of India

India, known as Republic of India officially lies in Southern Asia hosting earth at the Indian Oceans. If we talk about its geographical area, India is the seventh largest nation in the world hosting world’s largest Democracy comprising 2nd largest population in world. At one stage, population was the one of the biggest problem in India, but with changing times, Population of India has emerged as its major power strengthening its largest Democracy and providing global business a huge Indian Market. It has now emerged with a great Indian Economy which is among the world’s strongest economies.

While hosting earth at Indian Ocean, it also hosts in Bay of Bengal at its left and Red Sea at left. India has a commendable range of coastal region and has a wide coast line of 7517 kms. India also shares its internal borders with countries like Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and Bangladesh. Apart from it, India also has the credit to host world’s biggest mountain range and popularly known as Himalayans range which comprise of world’s tallest mountain, Mount Everest. Mount Kailasha in Himalayan also has its great ethical values among Indian people.

Not only in History, demographically also, India is amongst the best places in world which have variants in weather. As Indian History, Indian weather is also considered as rich as it enjoys all types of weathers. Basically, Weather of India is classified into three seasons popularly known as Summers, Monsoons and Winters. In these three seasons only Temperature in India plays quite a variant role as one can face a sizzling Summers with temperature rising around 50 degrees Celsius and also find chilling winters with temperature dipping till -20 degree Celsius. One can enjoy Indian Snow falls and simultaneously can watch hot draughts in India too. Indian Monsoons are also known for its records as some places have record rainfalls among the other parts of world having great rainfalls.

India is divided into 28 states and seven Union territories and each State in India has its own unique tradition, culture, language, climate and history.

India’s variant demography along with its historical importance makes it a major tourist destination for the world. Indian Tourism is one of the richest tourism in world fetching millions of tourists in India annually. Culture in India India is a land of unity in diversity. India houses various cultures and religions bringing a distinct flavour to the Indian tradition. India may be one place in the world with different and various cultures, traditions, religious rules and practices but despite the huge distinctness, is represents itself as one country – INDIA. The oldest known habitation in India appeared over 9,000 years ago. This was the well-known and very famous Indus valley civilization covering western India. India was later ruled by many rulers belonging to different religions, cultures and backgrounds. There was a time when Hindu rulers such as, Chandragupta Maurya, Ashoka the Great in north India and Chalukyas, the Cholas and the Vijayanagara Empire in southern India. They brought with them their own religious practices to India which later spread into particular regions. Thus, India became a land of varied religions and social practices. Coming back to the history of India, the Indus valley civilization was followed by the Vedic period. The vedic period gave rise to India’s main religion – Hinduism. It ended in the 500s BCE and gave way to independent Indian kingdoms around the 550 BCE. Budhism – on growing and one of the popular religions practiced acroos the wolrd was also originated from the land of India by its founder Gautam Budha.

Religion in India

Religion is the first factor which makes India an interesting nation to watch out for. It unity despite of lots basic diversity makes it so. In India, we have more than a dozen of Religion practiced. But broadly there are Hinduism, Sikhism, Islam, Sikhism, Jainism, Buddhism and Christianity are the widely practiced religions. Though Hinduism is the most prominent religion in India practiced by over 70% of total population of India which also comprise religion like Jainism and Sikhism in it. Rest of the percentage is shared by other religion. Not only this, but after practicing same religion, one can find at least thousand of different names, faces and tradition to worship a god.

Indian Economy

Having a huge population of over 11 billions people, India has great responsibility and a challenge of handling a balanced economy in order to run the nation successfully. And so far, Indian Economy has proved that it has the potential to handle this and it is handling it very smartly till now. Nowadays, Economy in India is considered as one of the strongest economies in world and now it has emerged as one the biggest market in world. Indian stock market (Sensex), popularly known as Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) are not only developing but they have now become one of the favorite choice Investors globally known as Foreign Investment Institutions (FIIs). Exchange of trillions of Rupees makes it importance which not far than any of the global business market.

In Indian stock market, there are thousand of private and public industries which are raising their capitals through public equities in the market. These Equity cab be raised through an Initial Public offering known as IPOs aften the nod of regulatory authorities. In India, National Security Depository Limited (NSDL) and Central Securities Depository Limited (CSDL) are governing bodied who controls whole functioning of Indian equity market. Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is also regulatory body. These two institutions - NSDL and CSDL are also responsible for issuance of unique permanent account number (PAN) to people while SEBI takes care of frauds and disputes.

Not only in the form of FIIs in stock market, but India is fetching huge capital from the world in the form of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Participatory Notes (PN) in Indian industries which are also enabling our Indian Industries in modernization of latest technologies. Though Indian economy is also classified in number of sectors in nature of work like Metals, Infrastructure, Fertilizers, Sugar, Oil & Gas, Tea and Pharmaceuticals etc but sectors like Banking, Information Technology (IT) and Real Estate in India are doing exceptionally good these days. Though all these three sectors are quite new in Indian market but now they contribute a major chunk in Indian Economy.

Automobile Sector in India has also a unique contribution as Cars in India and Bikes in India are quite popular and demanding sectors. In a country like India, if we now talk about the type or kind of Economy used, then the answer is mixed Economy. Due to various factors, India uses Mixed kind of Economy which comprise of Private, Public and as well as Public-Private-Participation (PPP) sectors. In result to this only, we have our Public SectorUndertakings (PSUs) like Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL), Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) etc which are a kind of independent companies but set up by Government of India in order to provide a boost in those sectors.

Government of India through its Finance Ministry always keeps a close tap on all happening in Indian markets. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) takes care of all monetary related policies and process and also maintains the Forex record of Indian Currency Rupee (Rs) against rest of the currencies across the world. In order to unite and talk to governments over much needed demands, for better coordination and sharing of common interest strategies in order to combat with the global ques, Private sectors companies ahs also developed some councils which acts like an intimidators between companies and Governments. Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FICCI) and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) are one of them which are globally acknowledged too.

Education in India As a developing nation, India is really very weak in general and basic Education standards as compared to other nation. This is one sector in which India is actually lacking. And no doubt, it has affect on other sectors too. The literacy rate in India is not very remarkable which has now risen to around 60 % officially from 33 % initially after the independence of India in 1947 from British regime. Though this growth was quite commendable but remarkable as now more than 60 years have been passed. Rural Sector of India is worst affected by this problem where the data of literacy rate has still stuck at 40 %. Due this, Unemployment in rural areas is rising day by day which led huge migration of rural people towards metropolitan cities like Delhi and Mumbai in search of livelihood.

But the scenario is not the same at all levels. India is now considered to be the one of the best places Higher Education which is providing brilliant professionals to the global market. Indian Professionals are now spread across the world and really doing great in their roles. Professionals coming out from the institutions like India Institute of Management (IIM), Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) are the hot choices for all leading companies across the world. Indian Doctors are the already capitalized the whole world with their skills. Apart from them Universities in India are also attracting many foreign students with their unique values and academic acknowledgments. In this list, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), University of Delhi (Delhi University), Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU) are the few hot choices of foreign students. For Indian Students also, nowadays there are various universities are providing a wide range of diverse courses covering almost sectors available. Engineering (B.Tech), Medical (MBBS), Management (CA/MBA/BBA), Journalism/Film Production, Hotel Management and Aviation are one the most favorite and popular courses among the students. In primary and secondary education, each state has its State Board for Education but Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is the most prominent Board which affiliates maximum number of schools in India.
